I was wondering if there are any RFID readers for these RFID microchips that are implanted in pets. We have 2 chipped cats and the idea is to attach a reader on either side of the cat flap, which would allow me to check which cat is in or out. I am trying to create a reader that can read my cat's chip. I bought this sensor on Amazon here( LINK ). I tried to configure it, but I am not receiving any data from the RX serial port.
This is a Arduino based scanner for animal micro chips. It retrieves country and animal identification number. It reads 134.2KHz frequency, ISO 11784/85, FDX-B micro chips.
Initially, I suspected a malfunction in the RFID module, so I replaced it, but the issue persisted. Subsequently, I considered the possibility of a malfunctioning animal tag; however, it tested successfully with another Animal reader. How to build an Animal RFID reader with Arduino, ESP8266, or ESP32. Let’s make that our Arduino can read animal RFID tags. Then cats or other animals can be part of our home automation..I am looking for an Arduino-compatible RFID reader supporting ISO 11784 & 11785, in order to read tags used for animals (mostly cats and dogs) identification. I found both RMD660 and and Sniffer Nano v2.0 from ITead Studio, but they are out of stock. Is there any alternative? Write a simple Arduino sketch to control the RFID reader and servo motor. The code should include functions to read RFID tags, compare them to authorized tags, and control the servo to open and close the dog door accordingly.
FDX-B (pet microchip) and EM4100 RFID Reader for ESP32. This app along with suitable hardware will decode the tags in microchipped pets used in the UK and EU which all use the 134.2kHz biphase encoded FDX-B protocol. It can also be used to decode the 125kHz Manchester encoded EM4100 tags.In this beginners guide, you will learn how to connect an RFID reader module to an Arduino Uno and read tag information from RFID cards and tags. We will go over the components needed, how to wire up the circuit, example Arduino code to interface with the reader, and testing procedures. If you have two cats and one of them is on a diet but the other needs free food, you can build a feeder with RFID capability that only opens for the cat that needs free access. The free-food cat wears a collar with an RFID tag. - Sensors detect whether the door is fully opened/closed.
